Actuated or applied by springs.- To compensate for elastic distortion in brake transmission mechanism, particularly on motor vehicles, a spring-pressed roller 8 acts upon an inclined surface 7 on a bar 4, after the slack has been taken up by movement of the pedal or hand lever 2. The resolved part of the thrust of the roller assists the effort of the hand lever. The bar 4 connects the hand lever 2 to an adjusting screw 5 connected to a lever 3 on a cross-shaft 40 of the brake mechanism and passes through a box 15 forming an upward extension of a cylinder 10 having an adjustable cap 12 enclosing a spring 11 which acts upon a plunger 9 carrying the roller 8.
