Wired wireless systems. - The protective earthed wire 9 usually provided above overhead power-transmission lines 1 - - 6 is utilized for transmitting or receiving high-frequency signalling-currents to or from the power lines, by insulating a section of the protective wire and earthing that section through a transformer 14 which has its secondary coiL connected to a signal transmittar or receiver 13. The location of the coupling- wire 9 above the power lines reduces its capacity to earth, and limits free radiation.
