Abstract

360,690. Aerials. GERVAIS, P. C., 146, Avenue Malakoff, Paris. Nov. 22, 1930, No. 35267. Convention date, Nov. 23. [Class 40 (v).] For eliminating interference caused by atmospheries &c. or unwanted transmissions, the receiving aerial 1 is completely e nclosed in a Faraday cage consisting of conducting wires 4 forming more or less open meshes. The cage may be provided with outwardly projecting points which aid the dissipation of atmospheric discharges and the aerial is suspended and insulated from it by insulators 5, the lead-in wire 6 being surrounded by a metallic sheath 8 connected to the cage and to earth, preferably through a variable inductance, capacity or resistance or a combination of two or more of these.
