Abstract

462,911. Wireless signalling. CORK, E. C., and PAWSEY, J. L. Sept, 17, 1935, No. 25815. [Class 40 (v)] The two sections 7, 8, Fig. 1, of a dipole aerial are connected to points in the outer sheath of a concentric feeder 3 and in an auxiliary conductor 5, attached to said sheath as described in Specification 438,506, in such a way that the termination of the feeder 3 and the auxiliary conductor 5 form an impedancematching transformer. The inner conductor 4 of the feeder is connected by a junction 6 to the free end of the conductor 5 which may be tubular and of the same diameter as the feeder sheath. By adjusting the length of the aerial 7, 8 it may be connected to the ends of the members 3, 5, Fig. 3 (not shown). In some cases the sheath 3 and conductor 5 are extended beyond the junction 6, Fig. 4, the aerial 7, 8 being attached to the extremities thereof. In a further embodiment, the feeder 3 has a slidable extension 3a and the conductor 5 is attached thereto by a. slidable bridge 9.
