Abstract
224,073. Embrey, L. Oct. 17, 1923. Rolling-machines.-A dough moulding machine comprises a tapered or conical receptacle formed of rollers which are rotated to impart a rolling, screw-like action upon the dough. As shown, a frame 4 carries conical rollers 1, having their axes slightly eccentric to the centre of the machine, which are driven through bevel and crown wheels 5, 8; 6, 7. The frame can be tilted upon trunnions 10 to discharge the moulded dough, and is furnished with a central ejector operated by a fixed cam engaged by a roller 16 against the action of a spring 13. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which the rollers 1 are separable for discharge. Each roller shaft 2 is in two portions connected by a universal coupling 17. The lower portion swings in a forked guide 18 and is raised and lowered by cam slots 19 in lugs 20 on a ring 21. According to the Provisional Specification, the rollers are oscillated or rotated through cranks from an oscillating frame.
