Abstract
224,050. Briggs, C. C. Sept. 22, 1923. Spindle and lifting rails.- In a ring spinning-frame the ring rail and the spindle, rail are lowered together during spinning so as gradually to increase the distance between the nip rollers and the traveller, and thereby to compensate for inequalities in drag when winding on various diameters of the bobbin. The spindle rail shaft L<3> is arranged to drive through chain and toothed gearing G - - G" a shaft R'. to which are fixed pulleys W<2>, L<2>, the ring rail R being carried on bars R<2> supported by chains from the pulleys W<2>, L<2>. The spindle rail L, driven from the heart cam shaft of the building- motion, is lowered as usual and' transmits its gradual downward motion to the ring rail R through the gearing G - - G<6>.
