Abstract
209,632. Grange, W. H. March 8, 1923. Mules.-Broken ends are prevented from remaining on the top of the carriage C during the outward run by a roller R. The ends thus hang down in front of the rollers A, and piecing cannot take place until the carriage is " in. " The roller R extends the length of the carriage, is driven by a band from the roller shaft S or by gearing, and is supported in suitable bearings situated between the pitch of the spindles. The roller may be made in sections joined by square pieces on one entering recesses in the next, the joints being situated at the bearings.
