Abstract

223,325. Wass, W. E., and Kelly, J. July 25, 1923. Axle stops consist of a pair of angle-irons a bolted to sleepers c and carrying a lever d,. pivoted near one end and provided with a shoulder d'. Vehicles travelling in one direction force the lever against a light spring e, but when 'travelling in the other direction at an excessive speed they force the lever against a stop f serving as a switch in an electric indication circuit, the tail of the lever engaging the second axle of the vehicle and stopping it.
