Rail coach carrying road vehicle and deriving propelling power therefrom. - A motor road vehicle is secured in position by anchoring chains 8, 9 and the driving wheels C rest upon and actuate drums 13 which are geared to the carrier wagon wheels 2. The vehicle is run on to the wagon by means of inclined tracks 11 which can be stowed away under the motor vehicle on the wagon when not in use. A .guide or housing 6 for the front wheels B of the motor vehicle extends across the front and partly along the sides of the wagon. The gauge of the wa.gon wheels may be varied. The front wheels of a four-wheel-drive motor vehicle may be similarly connected to the other wheels of the wagon. In a modification, the wheels of the motor vehicle make direct contact with transmission drums secured upon the flanged wheels of the carrier wagon, two pairs of wagon wheels being provided for each pair of motor vehicle wheels, so that each road wheel rests upon and is positioned between two drums.
