Abstract

218,921. Schmitt, A. r. A. Dec. 10, 1923. Vehicle fittings and attachments.-An inclined trough 1, 2 supported in a frame 4 having runners 3 or wheels, is pushed into snow by backing vehicles against it in succession so that the snow mounts the trough and is loaded on to the vehicles. The frame is fitted with buffers &c. 9 and with projections 10 which pass under the vehicle body and keep the frame from rising. A heater 5 with flues 6 may be fitted under the trough. The device may be used on railroads and tramways, as well as on ordinary roads.
