Devices for retaining and replacing collectors; controlling arrangements for collectors.-A retaining-device for trolly heads of electric tramcars consists of a channelled member b with two projecting lugs d, which is pivoted on the axle of the trolly wheel and controlled by a compression spring e. The trolly wheel is reduced in diameter and is in frictional contact with the projecting lugs. When an obstruction is met, 'the lugs are moved backwards until clear, the spring e restoring the member b to its normal position. The trolly-control ropes are attached to a pair of wires secured to an eye-bolt j, the free ends of the wires being outstretched to form a triangle by means of a stiffening-wire.
