Multiple-way valves; fluids, regulating volume of flow of.-In an auxiliary valve for locomotives which automatically supplies live steam at 1 to the blast apparatus at 2 when the regulator is closed, the hand valve for throttling or closing the auxiliary blast has three communicating chambers 16, 17, 18 and a double-faced valve 19 operated by a handle 28. The upper valve seat 22 is adjusted by a screw 24 so that, by allowing the valve 19 a higher lift, the disc 20 will reduce the area of the passage. The steam chest communicates at 3 with a chamber 4 in which a piston 5 engages the double-faced automatic valve 6.
