Power, obtaining from ship's way.-Installations for obtaining power from the way of a ship for driving auxiliaries comprise a watertight casing D in which is situated a casing C of a turbine and its inlet passage E, F, to which pass the trumpet-shaped bow tube A and the outlet tube G respectively, both tubes containing slide control valves. The turbine shaft H<1> extends through a stuffing box h in the tube G and carries a bevel wheel which gears with a wheel on a vertical shaft K. From this shaft power is taken off for driving an electric generator, pumps, and other auxiliaries.
