Loading circuits to improve transmission.-In order to prevent distortion due to oscillatory phenomena in a line loaded according to the Pupin method, the phase angle between the voltages at the beginning and end of the line is modified by the addition of a chain conductor so as to give a resultant phase angle which is approximately proportional to the frequency. In the example shown in Fig. 4, the chain conductor, which may be situated at a repeater, comprises inductivelycoupled voltage resonance circuits acting as shunt impedances and current resonance circuits acting as series impedances.
