Abstract

222,574. Kohler, G. A. E. July 4, 1923. Rotary machines.-In a printing-press of the kind comprising a frame, printing-cylinders mounted thereon, a paper-holding device located above the cylinders, and a folding-device located below the frame, a paper-roll carriage 11 is mounted on bearings 9 on the frame 1 and a belt 12 is provided adapted successively to engage the rolls 10 to feed the web to the cylinders. Four printing units are shown arranged side by side. and each unit comprises blanket cylinders 4, 5 and plate cylinders 2, 3 of the same size as the blanket cylinders, the latter being arranged between and above the plate cylinders. Rails 7 are arranged between the frames 1 and bearings 9 to increase the stability of the carriers 11. The webs pass downwardly from the printing-cylinders to two sets of collecting and folding devices 15, 16.
