Rotary machines.-In a newspaper a like printing-machine in which perfecting-couples are arranged above one another on superposed decks, the web reels R for the lower decks are arranged with their axes parallel to the axes of the printing and impression rollers, and the web reels R' for the upper deck are arranged at the side of the press and with their axes perpendicular to the axes of the reels R. In the machine shown in Figs. 1 and 3, there are two printing-units U<2> on the upper deck, and the axes of these are perpendicular to the axes of the three units U on the lower deck. The webs for the upper deck are guided by turning-rollers 10 to the printing-units U<2>, and after being printed on are guided by turning-hars 14 into the same plane as the webs from the lower units U, the associated webs passing to a folder F. In a modification, the axes of the upper printing-units are parallel to the lower ones, and the webs from the reels R<1> are acted on by turning-bars prior to the printing operation.
