Composition fuel or fire-lighter blocks comprise chalk and/or clay mixed with fibres such as are contained in pulped waste of canvas, card, carpets, strawboard, paper, &c., and made into a plastic substance with water to which an adbesive may be added; the mixture then being moulded and dried, after which in the form of blocks it is impregnated with melted paraffin wax.
