221,895. Scott, W. June 28, 1923. Batch-mixers with circulating - devices. - Apparatus for rousing or aerating fermented liquid comprises a hollow, vertical, rotating member which sprays the liquid either into, or over, the yeast on the top of the liquid, the level of which is determined by an opening in the side of the container. The member, which may comprise a tapering upper part 10 having an outwardly-flanged edge 13, and a cylindrical part 11, is supported by arms 14 from a spindle 7 rotated by a motor 6; the arms 14 may be in the form of vanes. A second conical member may be mounted above the member 10 with its larger end downwards to induce a current of air through the spray. A yeast board 16 is provided in the side opening in the container 1.
