Abstract

221,332. Taylor, L. Aug. 11, 1923. Winding, rolling, &c. machines. - Means for controlling the driving'of cloth rolling, lapping, doubling and measuring, and like machines by which cloth is wound on lapping-boards consists of clutch driving-mechanism wherein a double clutch arrangement is employed consisting of double clutch elements a<1>, a<3> working a driving- clutch element a and a braking-element a<4>, manually controlled gear d, d<2>, b being provided to effect the driving; to put the clutch into neutral position, to turn the roll back to correct faulty winding; and to stop the machine. The clutch elements a<1>, a<3> are slidable on the shaft, the driving-pulley a being loose. A spring d<4> is provided to hold the clutch and brake elements a<3>, a<4> normally in engagement, or the driving-elements may be normally in engagement.
