Fuse-boards.-A hinge connection for electric fuse boxes and for other purposes wherein the lid is adapted to be adjustably clamped on to its seating comprises two relatively movable U- shaped members arranged so that they are connected together and one straddles the other, one of these members being pivotally connected to one of the hinged members and the other U-shaped member having clamping means for engaging the other hinged member. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 1 and 4, as applied to an electric fuse-box, the U-shaped member c<1> is pivotally mounted by a pin a<2> on a lug a<1> of the casing a and it is straddled by a member d to which it is connected by a pin c. A clamping pin d<1> that has a screwed connection with the upper part of the member c<1> bears at its lower end on a lug b<2> of the lid. By a rotary movement of the pin d' the lid is clamped down against the action of the coiled compression spring e. The lid is grooved at b<1> to accommodate suitable packing material. On the opposite side of the lid, fastening devices of the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 5 are provided, a clamping screw g bearing on a lug b<2> of the lid and the member f pivoted at a<2> to the lug a' of the casing. A padlock opening i is provided. In a modification, the inner U-shaped member is pivotally connected to the lid and the pin d arranged to bear on the lug of the casing. Hinge members may be provided on both sides of the casing so that the lid may be swung about either set of pivot connections.
