Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed October 6, 1908.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, OTTO FRANK, a subject of the German Emperor, and resident of Stralsund, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shutter-Bowers, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved device for fixing windows in open position, which is represented on the accompanying drawing in which Figures 1 and 2, 3 and 4, and 5 and 6 are a sectional plan and elevation of the same as attached to the window, in closed partly open, and entirely open osition respectively.
On the lower edge oi the window frame and in a groove (1 of the same, a band iron I;
is pivotally mounted while to the lower edge of the window also a band iron 0 is pivotally attached, the free ends of said two band irons being pivotally connected Above the band iron 0 the window carries a movable hook e which is adapted to engage one of the holes f provided in the band iron 6 whereby the window can be fixed in the respective positions.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A device for fixing windows in open position, comprising in combination with the window and the window frame having a groove in its lower edge, a band iron having a series of holes and pivotally mounted in said grooves, another band iron pivotally attached to the lower edge of said window and with its free end pivoted to the free end of the other band iron, and a movable hook on said window adapted to engage one of said holes, for the purpose set forth.
