Ambulances-In an ambulance vehicle an upper stretcher is supported on a frame 14 carried by four parallel levers 12 pivoted thereto at their upper ends and connected at their lower ends to two oscillatory shafts 10 fitted with worm wheels or quadrants 18 operated by worms 16 on a shaft 15, rotation of which by a handle 16<1> effects the raising or lowering of the frame 14. As shown, the levers 12 are detachablv secured to the shafts 10 to permit the upper stretcher frame to be removed and a lower stretcher frame 1 to be used alone.
