Alternating-current motors; conductors.- To improve the starting torque of squirrel-cage induction motors, each conductor-bar I occupies substantially the entire depth of the rotor slot and is formed with a longitudinal slit f which is filled with one or more keys or strips a of magnetic material, the ends of the bar being intact. The bar may be subdivided in the direction of its thickness into several parallel bars or laminations, separately punched or pressed into shape.
