Limbs, artificial. - The chain &c. 1 used for raising and lowering the forearm 11 of an artificial arm is secured to a cam 2 pivoted at the rear of the forearm, the chain being also secured to the forearm at a point 13 below the pivot pin 12, a locking pin 17 being provided to hold the arm in its adjusted position. The pin 17 engages in holes in a disc 15 formed on the forearm and is operated by a spring-pressed lever 21 to which an actuating chain 24 is attached. The chain 24 is also secured to a cam 26 pivoted at 27. A catch 28 which frictionally engages the cam 26 is provided to hold the pin 17 in the raised position. A bucket 42 is attached to the forearm 11 by a tubular member 37 which slides over an extension 31 of the member 11 and within a sleeve 32 attached to the member 11, a spring-pressed pin 33 engaging in a groove 36 in the member 37. Rotation of the member 37 is prevented by a slot 40 at its upper end in which pins 41 engage. Fig. 6 shows the wrist end of the bucket 42 which carries a removable member 51 to which various fitments can be screwed. The member 51 is held in a sleeve 45 by means of a spring-pressed pin 48 and is prevented from rotating by a pin 53 in the sleeve 45 which engages slots in the upper end of the member 51. When the bucket 42 is removed from the forearm 11 the member 51 can be attached to the extension 31 in place of the member 37.
