Abstract

215,616. Dallas, J. June 19, 1923. Actuating-mechanism, - In a gas torch provided with a nozzle 4, 5 and a nipple 2 for the reception of a gas pipe 3, a flexible valve, preferably a rubber strip 8, is fitted to one end of a rod 6 fitting loosely in the tubular body 1 of the torch so that the nipple orifice 7 is normally closed by the valve but, when the tube is situated with the nozzle 4 lowermost, the valve is removed from the orifice and gas flows through the torch, the rod 6 being kept clear of the orifice 5 by a stop 9.
