Abstract

214,621. Thalhofer, G. April 16, 1923, [Convention date]. Straightening. - Pliers, cutters, pincers or shears are adapted for straightening bent nails &c. by providing a slot s in the pivot e fixed to one gripping member a, and a coacting stud' g on the other member d. The bent nail h is placed in position when the gripping members are opened and is straightened by closing them. The stud g may be made in one piece with the member d by pressing. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also states that, instead of forming a slot in the head of the pivot, the member carrying the pivot may have a boss placed at one side of the pivot, with a clearance between them equivalent to the slot, the boss and pivot being suitably flattened. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
