435,350. Hair - curling appliances. NEWEY BROS., Ltd., and ALLEN, S., 105, Brearley Street, Birmingham. Oct. 6, 1934, No. 28624. [Class 131] A hair curler of the kind comprising a pair of limbs b, between which a lock of hair is gripped and around which it is wound, pivotally mounted in a frame a having means for engaging the free ends of the limbs, is characterized in that one free end of the frame a is formed with an integral tongue f which is passed through the limbs and through an aperture e in the opposed end of the frame and riveted or clinched over to act as the pivot. The tongue f may be formed by cutting away the end of the strip of which the frame is made at each side to leave a central projecting portion of reduced width, or by slitting the strip adjacent its end and pressing out the tongue at right angles. The curler may comprise a metal frame and limbs of moulded material.
