Abstract
214,530. Pierpont, F. H., and Lanston Monotype Corporation, Ltd. Aug. 11, 1923. Single-type composing and casting machines; matrices.-In a die-case equipment, the matrices are supported by two series of parallel suspension bars, arranged at right-angles to each other, and passing through openings in the die-case frame. The two sets of suspension bars A, B, Figs. 4 and 6, which at their ends are connected to plates A', B', pass through holes E', E<2>, Fig. 2, in the opposite sides of the die case E, one set of bars passing through holes D<2>, Fig. 8, in the matrices D, and the other set passing through grooves D', Fig. 9, in the sides of the matrices. The set of bars A is looked in position by a spring C on the die-case, which engages the plate A', and one of the bars A passes between shoulders b', Fig. 6, on the bars B, which are thereby locked.
