Abstract

214,360. Lyons & Co., Ltd., J., and Oliver, G. W. Feb. 1, 1923. Filling tablets, discs, &c., into packets.-Relates to apparatus for inserting tablets, discs, &c., into packets. Means are provided whereby the device for feeding the tablets &c. can be held out of operation without stopping the mechanism which actuates the feeding mechanism. A pile of discs &c. 3 is contained in a tube 2, at the lower end of which a slide 7 reciprocates in guides 8. The slide has a recess in its upper face of the size of the discs &c. and of sufficient depth to accommodate one only. The amount of clearance at the bottom of the tube may be adjustable. A packet 10 is placed in position to receive the discs. The slide 7 is connected by a link 12 to an operating lever 11 reciprocated by an arm 17 through a link 14 and spring 19. The lever 11 may be forced into an inoperative position by a lever 20 without stopping the arm 17, the spring being of sufficient length to accommodate the movement.
