Abstract

213,158. Wood, H. O. May 30, 1923. Frame construction. - A chassis for a side-car or other vehicle camprises a horizontal base 1 and two side members 4, 5 depending therefrom to form a vertical triangular base structure, the sides 4, 5 constituting parts of triangular frames 4, 6, 7 and 5, 10, 11, which are threaded the one through the other and have their apices connected by an horizontal tube 14. A lug 12 uniting the members 10, 11 and a lug 15 at the end of the member 1 carry attachments 13, 17 for the motor-cycle and may be connected by a tube 16. The body is secured to a pin 9 on the tube 14 and either to the member 1 or to a tube 2 mounted thereon. When applied to a fourwheeled vehicle, the apex of the frame 4, 6, 7 is disposed in front of the junction of the members 1, 10, the tube 14 being parallel to the mem. bar 1 and constituting the front axle.
