Abstract

212,425. Bailey, S. L. March 17, 1923. Gear-boxes, mounting.-Crank cases for twin cylinder engines used on motor cycles which cases are divided in a plane at right angles to the crank shaft into two unequal parts B, C, have the facings A for the cylinders formed with a part on each case part B, C; stud-holes X are formed on each face part for attachment of the cylinders to the divided case. The gear box is held on the surface G by dove-tailed clamps fixed in position by bolts through the holes G<2>, the box is thereby adjustable on the surface to enable the tension of the driving chain to be varied. An arm F carries the gear box control arm.
