Abstract

212,385. Hayter, W. Feb. 19, 1923. Pipe-cutters.-In pipe-cutters provided with screw-adjusted, burr-removing devices, the bumremoving cutter 16, which can be locked in adjusted position, is made of substantially semicircular shape, of substantial thickness and of width equal to the cross-sectional width of the curved cutter head 13. Adjustment of the cutter is effected by knurled nuts 22, 23 carried by the screwed stem 19 of the cutter and housed in an opening 21 in the cutter head 13, the nuts being protected against injury or displacement by making them of smaller diameter than the width of the cuter 'head. Locking in the adjusted position is effected by moving the nuts to opposite ends of the opening. The usual cutting wheels 12, 14, 15 are provided, the last two being mounted in the head 13 and' the first carried by a sliding carriage 8 moved by a screw 9 engaging a threaded hole in a boss 10 on the body of the cutter.
