212,200. Swan, Hunter & W. Richardson, Ltd., Rowntree, F., and Belyavin, P. Nov. 2, 1923. Cylinders, cooling. -Cooling water is supplied to a jacket D, surrounding a liner A, by fitting a ring E round an annular channel e<7> which distributes the water to longitudinal passages a<3> leading to the jacket. The ring is held by studs e and has water-tight joints e<1>, e<2> and a hole e<6> for the entry of the water; a packing e<3> and a retaining ring e<5> are held by studs e<4>. In a modif,cation, the ring E may have an annular recess communicating with the annulus c<7> or equivalent radial holes. The liner as shown is similar to that described in Specification 190,081.
