Abstract

Cylinders, construction of and cooling.-To avoid unequal expansion a cylinder cover is made in two parts, a ring a and a thin plate b with a central boss c which fits water-tight in the ring. The plate also bears against radial ribs on the bottom of the ring leaving spaces between them through which water from the jacket f flows to spaces h in the ring. The ring and plate may be bolted together.
