Abstract

123,376. Ricardo, H. R. Feb. 18, 1918. Pistons. - An aluminium &c. piston for an internal-combustion engine has two curved slippers E, working in the e cylinder, and formed integral with webs C which carry the gudgeon-pin busses. The webs may be parallel or inclined, the slippers E in the latter case being of different areas. The slippers are separated from the piston flange by a gap F, and are preferably perforated as shown. A vertical web C<2> is formed between the webs C and the piston crown, and similar webs are formed between the webs C and the slippers E.
