Abstract
211,897. Hass, H. Feb. 26, 1923, [Convention date]. Addition to 199,003. Screw propellers.-Guide. surfaces for screw propellers as described in the parent Specification are modified for use in multiple screw installations and are formed integrally with the shaft brackets. In a twin-screw boat, each shaft bracket 1, Fig. 1, is formed with a curved arm portion or fin 2 immediately in front of the propeller, the curve being directed oppositely to the propeller direction 3 for the purpose of suitably guiding the water to the propeller. When the curve is very marked, slots may be provided in the fin, or the fin may be divided and formed' with two curved parts 10, 9, Fig. 5. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the provision of additional curved pins 19, 20, Fig. 9 (Cancelled), which may be formed on the boss of the bracket extending outwardly therefrom and which coact with the main fin 18 in guiding the water. This subject-matter does not appear n the Specification as accepted.
