Abstract
207,595. Holle, A. A. Aug. 26, 1922. Axle distance members and torque-tubes; axles.-In motor road vehicles of the type in which each of the driving road wheels is carried by a transverse supporting axle pivoted to the undercarriage by a longitudinal joint and coupled to one of the springs of the undercarriage, each of the axles is connected to the frame of the undercarriage by a member 23 fixed to the axle and pivoted to the frame at such a point that the axis of the pivot is in alignment with tha axis of the pivot by which the axle is pivoted to the frame. As shown, the torque tubes 23 en. close the propeller shafts 13 and are provided with universal joints 25 in alignment with the universal joints 21 in the propeller shafts.
