Spring wheels.- Fig. 1 shows a portion of a wheel having a central portion a formed as a disc, spoke, wire or other rigid wheel and having a rim b between which and an outer rigid rim h of metal or partly of metal and partly of wood, are secured Cee-springs C of rolled steel or other resilient material, each having three grooves d, e, f, one groove d being at the centre of each spring and the other e, f being near the ends. The springs all face one way and are secured by rivets i or by bolts or welding. A felloe g may be provided. An inner disc cover of rubber in a stretched or unstretched state is fixed to the felloe to exclude dust &c.. and a similar outer disc is provided formed of metal, wood, celluloid or other similar material or of canvas, tarpaulin or other textile material or of rubber.
