Abstract

207,110. Jones, D. Palmer-. March 21, 1923. Rod couplings.-A tube clamp consists of two separate jaws 1, 2 with a central clamping bolt 4, each jaw being provided at each end with a pivoted bearing block 6 whereby the tubes may be clamped at any angle. The central bolt may pass loosely through one jaw and screw into the other jaw or may pass loosely through both jaws and carry a tightening nut, in which case sufficient freedom is given to allow the jaws to set themselves. The bearing blocks may be provided with locking bolts or may have toothed surfaces engaging similar surfaces on the jaws to lock them together in definite angular positions. The blocks further may be provided with projections to engage recesses in the tubes to prevent relative endways motion.
