Indicating-mechanism.-In a weighing scale in which an index 5 co-operates with a chart 3 having a row of graduations corresponding to relatively large weights, division parts of these weights are indicated by a series of straight lines extending in a direction parallel to the index and arranged in stepped relation to each large weight graduation, thus giving a distinct indication for the exact weight. Each graduation may bears its own designating number, as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, or the designating numbers may be carried bv the arm 5<b> carrying the index, as shown in Fig. 5, or by a lens frame extending over the rows of stepped graduations. In the case of a cylindrical scale housing, the scale may bear two sets of graduations, one being inverted so that it may be viewed through a rear window.
