Abstract
205,249. Mann, W. L., and Gannaway, H. F. July 28, 1922. Folding boxes; boxes comprising skeleton formation; lined and covered boxes.-A folding poultry box or hamper has the sides, bottom and lid constructed of wire netting mounted on wood or metal frames and covered on both sides with canvas &c., three of the sides being hinged to ledges fixed to the base and the fourth side 2 being hinged directly thereto by a spring hinge device so as to be readilv removable; the lid 6 is hinged to the side having the ledge of greatest depth and all the sides may be hinged by the spring hinge device. The spring hinge device 11 comprises a bracket 15 fixed to the side, and bored to receive a coiled spring 16 connected to pins 18, 19 engaging the hinge parts 10 on the bottom or ledge. Slots in the top of the bracket allow the pins to slide therein when pressed together by the loops shown to withdraw the pins from the ports 10.
