Abstract

316,728. Shakespeare, H. T. June 1, 1928. Fittings, internal.-A trunk &c. has an inner smaller collapsable compartment formed by a pair of plates d, f of a length substantially equal to the width of the trunk, the plate f being hinged to one end wall of the trunk and the plate d being removably hinged to the bottom of the trunk and carrying a lock h by which the plates are fastened together to lock the compartment. The plate f collapses against the end wall of the trunk and the plate d may be removed for packing and cleaning purposes. The plate d in its compartment-forming position abuts against stops m formed on a wooden or metal fillet k secured below the flanged top edge j of the trunk and a spring o may be provided to hold the plate d erect while the plate f is raised. The plate f may be hinged to the fillet k on the end wall of the trunk.
