Abstract

204,969. Jones, W. A., and Bradley, H. Dec. 1,1922. Atmospheric gas burners.-An atmospheric gas burner comprises a fan 19 mounted in bearings 20, 21 in a frame 18, secured centrally bv a screw 17 in the top of a thimble-shaped member 15, provided with diverging holes 16 and screwed into a fitting 7 for attachment to a gas supply pipe, the upper enlarged end 8 of the fitting 7 being provided with air-inlets 10, controlled by a hit-and-miss regulator 11, and carrying a mixing-chamber 12 and globe gallery 13, so that the gas jets issuing from the holes 16 rotate the fan, which draws air through the inlets 10 and mixes it with the gas. The bearing 20 is carried by a screw-threaded stem 22 adjustable by means of nuts 23. A curved mixing-tube leading to an inverted burner fitting may be screwed into the top of the mixing-chamber 12.
