Turning; tools; tool-holders.-A tubular lathe tool g, Fig. 3, is provided with a plug-like member m which is adjustable along the tool axis by a screw n engaging the point of a conically ended screw k which also serves to adjust the tool in the holder e. In a modification, the tool adjusting screw k, Fig. 6, is provided with a threaded bore in which the shank of the plug member m is screwed, a lock-nut v being fitted. In this form, the plug extends through the upper end of the tool and is fitted with an undercut head s which is adapted to break the shavings produced by the tool. In a further modification, an independent shavings-breaker w, Fig. 9, which may be adjusted in a direction parallel to the tool axis may be provided. The tool is doubleended and may be rotated either by hand or automatically.
