Axle structures and torque and thrust extensions thereof.-In torque tube constructions in which the front end of the tube is supported by a double universal joint so as to be free to move in any direction, the propeller shaft C is provided with a bearing d at or near the front end of the torque tube. A cup E for a sliding universal joint is also provided on the shaft C. The end of the torque tube A is connected by a universal joint d<3>, g to a link member G supported by a frame member J through a spring-mounted ball joint H permitting vertical play. In a modification the springs m are dispensed with, and the end of the torque tube is supported by a link having two ball joints one of which encloses the end of the tube.
