Abstract

Dynamos and contacts, arrangement of.- Accessories, such as the electric generator and ignition devices, are attached to a central cast. ing so that they may be secured as a unit to the crank chamber. A shaft 11 carries the cooling- water pump 2 bolted to a flange 7 on one end of the central casting 6. A flange 25 at the opposite end of the casting carries the generator or magneto 3, the shaft 22 of which is coupled by a clutch 21 to the shaft 11. A vertical shaft 32 driven by worm gearing 20, 33 is coupled at its upper end to the distributor shaft of the ignition device 4 mounted above the casting 6. The operating-arm 31 ior timing the ignition is connected to a sleeve 28<1> rotatable about the shaft 32. The shaft 11 is provided with a detachable connection to a coaxial shaft, which is geared to the crank-shaft and may also drive the fan.
