Wave energy, utilizing.-A wave motor comprises a guided float A immersed in the sea connected by a rod to a rack bar D engaging a spur wheel E the shaft of which is connected through oppositely operating free-wheel mechanism to spur wheels G, P engaging pinions H, Q which drive a. shaft I through bevel gears L, R so that it rotates in one direction onlv. A counterweight 0 is attached to a second rack V engaging a pinion T which meshes with the wheel E. The shaft I drives a fly-wheel N, electric motor M, and pulley wheel V. To deaden shocks the rod C is connected to the rack by an electric device S such as a spring, or a compressed air or glycerine cylinder.
