Spring power-storing mechanism.-Within a frame 8, 9 lantern drums 6, each containing a number of springs A about shafts 11, gear with pinions 24 fast on a common winding-shaft 23. External to the frame, wheels 13, 14 gear with a common pinion 15 on a short shaft 16, which is supported by a bracket 17 and carries a driving- wheel 20. A disengageable pawl 19 on the bracket serves to lock the motor when required. The winding-shaft 23 is turned bv a handle 28 under a pawl 27.
