Abstract

104,157. Manganella, A. Feb. 12, 1916, [Convention date]. Wave energy, utilizing.-A series of floats is used, each float carrying a rack which engages with a pinion, all the pinions being geared together. The floats 5 are attached to toothed sectors 6 having arms 4 connected to pivoted rods 3, which are supported by a framework 1. Each sector engages with a pinion 8 mounted on a shaft 9, while each shaft 9 carries a chain-wheel 10 of the free-wheel type, so that it rotates only in one direction. All the wheels 10 are connected by chains 11 to a suitable main shaft. The floats 5 may he grouped in series as shown in Figs. 2.
