Abstract

Blowpipe burners; burners, regulating and controlling.-In pistols for spraying metal or enamel, the supply of the heating gases and the atomizing agent is controlled by means of an eccentric shaft 10 provided with a handle 12 whereby it may be turned to squeeze together the flexible, supply pipes 2, 3, 4 and thus restrict or stop the supply. The pipe 2 may supply the atomising agent e.g. air, the pipe 3 may supply the combustible gas e.g. acetylene, coal gas, or hydrogen, and the pipe, 4 may supply oxygen. Projections or a projection 15 may be arranged on the eccentric shaft, so that one gas is released atfer the other, or as shown, both the combustion gases are released and then the air. Stops may be provided to limit the rotation of the shaft 10, and a thin sheet 16 of yielding material may be provided between each pipe and the shaft 10. The eccentricity of the shaft 10 adjacent the pipe for the combustible gas may be reduced so that the gas is never entirely cut off.
